Questions about client galleries.
What is a client gallery for photographers?
A client gallery is a private, branded space where clients view the photographs from their shoot, pick their favourites and, if you allow it, download them. It replaces a folder of exported files with something that feels like part of your studio.
How do photography clients access their gallery?
You share one link. Depending on how you set access, clients open it straight away, enter a PIN you give them, or verify their email if you've made the gallery invite-only.
Do clients need a StudioFolio account?
No. Clients never create a StudioFolio account to view a gallery. An invite-only gallery asks them to verify their email address. There's no password to set and nothing to sign up for.
Can clients select their favourite photographs?
Yes. Clients tap a heart on any photo to favourite it and can rate photos too. Their picks save automatically and sync back if they open the gallery again later, even on a different device once they verify their email.
Can clients download their photographs?
Only if you turn downloads on for that gallery. When you do, clients can download their favourites or the whole gallery as one ZIP, at full resolution or the same web-size preview they browsed, whichever you choose.
Where are gallery photographs stored?
In your own cloud storage, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive by default. StudioFolio streams the photographs from your connected account through short-lived signed links rather than copying them. If you'd rather not manage your own storage, StudioFolio Cloud is a separate managed option where StudioFolio hosts the files for you.
Can I use Google Drive for a photography client gallery?
Yes. Connect your Google Drive account, pick a folder and StudioFolio turns it into a gallery. Dropbox and OneDrive work the same way.
Does StudioFolio support photo proofing?
Yes. Clients favourite and rate photographs, leave comments on individual images and tell you when they're finished. You see their picks update live and can filter the gallery down to exactly what they chose.
Do StudioFolio galleries work on mobile?
Yes. Galleries are built to be opened on a phone. Clients can browse, favourite and download from mobile just as easily as on a desktop.
